Each group member will interview an experienced educator/professional about their best or worst teaching with freshmen during their first semester and emotional learning tools/strategies examples. The group will select two for the assignment.

Each group member will offer the summary table from our literature/theory review paper and as a team.

Analysis due date 10/15: Javita and Denise

Implications due date 10/19: Tashika

Reflection due date 10/20: Each group member will also provide a brief (one paragraph) reflection so that it can be compiled into a group reflection post.

Tashika will review each section for errors, formatting, etc., before posting to the blog; organize the introduction/analysis/implications/reflections of the group.

10/23 Zoom meeting: Each group member will also provide a brief (one paragraph) introduction with background information on the purpose and objectives so that it can be compiled into a group introduction that will also be a post.  The syllabus will be composed of a weekend program for incoming freshmen.


Syllabus organization due date: 10/27  Javita

Rationale due date: 10/27 Denise

Reflection due date: 10/29 Tashika

Denise and Tashika will integrate some of the theoretical ideas and suggestions from the theory review and practice analysis into the rationale and reflection.

Javita will review each section for errors, formatting, etc., before posting to the blog; organize the introduction/rationale/syllabus input from the group.

Zoom Meeting 11/6: Organization of Demonstration discussion -
Denise will represent the whole group to talk in the videos and prepare the multi-media format demonstration.

Video 1 due date 11/10:  Each group member will answer 2 questions to contribute to the reflection video on the course, reflecting on the following:

  • What did you learn from this course?
  • What did you like or dislike about our online discussions, group project and this course in general?
  • How do you think the project was able to help you understand the practical field and the theories?
  • Use examples to tell us how the various learning resources in weekly discussions help you understand the theories and how to apply theories to practice?
  • What do you suggest to better support your learning? What are your suggestions for future students?


Video 2 Implementation of syllabus due date 11/15: Denise will contribute to the video on the implementation of the syllabus, addressing the following:

  • Briefly introduce to the readers the learners, objectives, main activities, etc. of the course/workshop.
  • Tell the readers the plan to implement the main activities in practice, the strategies/tools used, the goals to achieve through these activities, and the rationale of the activities.



Demonstration visual aids/charts/diagrams due date 11/15: Javita and Tashika will contribute to the video demonstration by addressing the following:

  • The process of how we plan to implement your syllabus in practice.
  • The artifacts/tools/strategies we will use in the activities.
  • The lessons/knowledge/skills we have gained in the process of implementing the syllabus.




The group will determine how to demonstrate to the readers and may ask volunteers to provide feedback/reaction to the demonstration.  

Denise will review each section for errors, formatting, etc., before posting to the blog and to the EDAC 635 Facebook page.

  1. This is very well thought out group plan with a lot of detail. Great work in setting all of this up. With so much planned out, I am sure your semester will be easier with the higher level of organization.

      Just a time frame to allow for review and publication ahead of the due dates. Meetings on Monday to check in with each other.
